ADDIOPIZZO 20 EXHIBIT

Twenty years after the day when the city of Palermo woke up to the warning: “A whole people who pays the pizzo is a people without dignity,” Addiopizzo tells its story through a photographic exhibition, illustrating in 4 thematic areas the concrete actions it has taken from June 29, 2004, to the present.

Twenty years of anti-mafia actions have marked a cultural turning point in the fight against mafia extortion, involving civil society, merchants, law enforcement, and institutions, creating a supportive and resilient community that has sparked a grassroots cultural revolution.
