Another area of intervention is social inclusion and the fight against economic and educational poverty. As a matter of facts, it is not enough to help and support shopkeepers and entrepreneurs to report the pizzo, when poverty and neglect contribute to feed the widespread illegality and the mafia power system.
We promote activities of Outreach education and urban regeneration targeting children, boys and girls, teenagers and families, to improve the social condition and prevent delinquency.<\/p>\n

Addiopizzo has always paid particular attention to an area of great symbolic value: Piazza Magione, the hearth of the Kalsa district, in the old town center. <\/span><\/p>\n

There, we held the first fairs and festivals of critical consumption<\/span>. In 2016, the area was designated as the beneficiary of the<\/span> \u201cCollective Investment<\/span><\/a>\u201d, a civic fundraising campaign promoted by our Association which mobilized citizens, organizations, schools and institutions,as well as the private and the public sectors. A new playground was built as part of a wider urban regeneration project.

\u00a0It all started with a ball and in the first months it was also thanks to such moments that we were able to win over the mistrust, to start talking about rules and team play. This was an important opportunity to promote values such as respect, solidarity, friendship and integration.\u00a0<\/span>

\u00a0These and other paths promoted within the cultural program “Inside and outside the square, culture is for everyone<\/a>“, a set of initiatives aimed at children, teenagers and families in the neighborhood with whom we have entered into a relationship and who they enthusiastically welcomed the work we do in the neighborhood.<\/span><\/p>\n
